It showcases the region and its people; it is only right that a little more light is shone on the extraordinary people like those at the Yorkshire Air Ambulance who dedicated themselves to the safety of others. Over the course of Le Tour weekend, all of Global’s vehicles proudly displayed the Yorkshire Air Ambulance brand and our team members were out collecting donations for this exceptionally important service. We included two Audi A3’s and one BMW i3s in a yellow, red, yellow formation in reflection of Yorkshire Air Ambulance’s brand colours as part of the publicity caravan riding through the roads of Yorkshire forefront of the Tour.
Global was proud to continue support post Tour de Yorkshire by auctioning a bonnet signed by the Asda Women’s race riders to the highest bidder.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is funded almost solely by donations and requires over £12,000 a day to operate its fleet from the two airbases at Nostell Priory and RAF Topcliffe covering Yorkshire’s 4 million acres 356 days of the year – that’s an astonishing £4.3 million in fundraising. Since its establishment in 2000, the helicopters have been called out an astonishing 12,400 times.
