Global is set to become Official Vehicle Sponsor to the 2019 UCI Road World Championships.

24th February 2019

Global is delighted to announce their sponsorship to the UCI Road World Championships, set to take place in Harrogate in September 2019 for 8 days of competition. Global is set to be Official Vehicle Sponsor for the world-class cycling event which is set to attract circa 4 million roadside spectators.

The sponsorship was directly appointed to Global by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), following the operational successes of Global’s fleet management to the Tour de Yorkshire, whereby Global supplied an exceptional fleet worth £6 million in total. The event was a perfect showcase of Global’s ability to provide fleet on-demand, meeting exacting requirements for the likes of the competition department and cycling direction vehicles, TV crew vehicles and doctor’s vehicles, plus the 11 iconic red in race cars to name a few

For the UCI Road World Championships, Global will be providing almost 130 vehicles to help support some of the worlds best cyclists take centre stage in Global’s home county. Vehicle support is a critical element at every stage and the event ultimately wouldn’t run smoothly without them. Global is thrilled to be trusted to deliver a premium fleet at such large scale which showcases their commitment to excellence and sports in the Yorkshire region.

In addition to the UCI Road World Championships and Tour de Yorkshire, Global also proudly sponsor the Leeds Rhinos and Leeds United Football Club, whereby they are entrusted as Official Vehicle Partner. The UCI Road World Championships fits perfectly with Global’s history of partnering with world-class athletes and sportspeople, as well as their regional roots and pride in being able to showcase some of the best that Yorkshire has to offer.

The Championships hosts approximately 1,400 athletes from 74 countries, which will run from 21-29 September 2019 for 8 days of competition. Races will start in a range of locations including Beverley, Ripon, Northallerton, Bradford and Global’s home city, Leeds, with Harrogate as the destination for each race.
